Many of you have been loyal users of QuickBooks Desktop for decades—and we sincerely thank you for your business and trust. Your valuable insights and engagement helped us build solutions to meet your needs and the needs of accountants and businesses around the world.

While we remain proud of the desktop product we’ve built over the years, all future innovation will happen in QuickBooks Online. We truly believe that moving to QuickBooks Online serves you and your clients’ interests better—now and in the long term. For that reason and more, we strongly encourage our QuickBooks Desktop customers to consider making the switch.

If you decided against migrating in the past, now is a great time to take another look. The pandemic caused more QuickBooks Desktop customers to migrate online. We want to take a moment to say this: At this time, we remain committed to supporting QuickBooks Desktop products and customers—and you and your clients can continue to renew their QuickBooks Desktop subscription.

Don’t worry about losing data: You don't need to worry about saving your QuickBooks data on a flash drive because QuickBooks Online automatically backs your data up with the same level of security used by banks and financial institutions.

Assure continuous protection: QuickBooks Online uses technical and administrative security measures such as, but not limited to, firewalls, encryption techniques, and authentication procedures, among others, to work to maintain the security of your online session and information. Not only do we protect the information you share with us, we also proactively search for scams and frauds that might impact our customers.
