Jaclyn Anku, ProAdvisor Training & Certification Leader: On today's episode of In the Know, we'll be exploring updates to Intuit Assist for Bill Pay in QuickBooks Online.
Hey, ProAdvisors, it’s Jaclyn and you're watching In the Know, where you can get exclusive access to demos of Intuit product enhancements by the leaders who built them.
So let's jump right in with Jason for a demo of Intuit Assist in QuickBooks Online. Jason, welcome. Thanks for being on the show.
Jason Taylor: Thank you for having me.
Thank you for having me, Jaclyn. I'm sharing a bit about what we've heard on the accounts payable side: some of the problems our customers are running into or the pains with dealing with bills, including the manual entry of bills by hand-typing them in. We have an existing receipt capture within QuickBooks, but it was lacking some functionality, lacking particular fields, and also not filling in the right fields. We also heard about email or email forwarding capability; you couldn't share it directly with vendors or employees and had to have access to QuickBooks in order to even send those emails.
What we did was bring autofill right to the bill form in the expense form. We're also filling in your vendor, your pay, your account category, and all of those fields you weren't getting before. And then we have made the email for receipt and bill forwarding sharable to anyone outside of QuickBooks, outside vendors, and employees.
Jaclyn, so let's jump right into this demo. I'm going to show you how to do auto fill for your bills and receipts. Today, it's going to be demoed on the bill form.
You can see I have the bill form open here. What I'm going to be doing is dragging over a bill that a client may have shared with me via email. I have downloaded that or taken it from my email, dropped it in, and you can see that Intuit Assist has extracted the information from that bill and brought it over into the form for me automatically.
I don't have to type in any of this information. It's got the vendor, Black River Produce. I have the mailing address, the terms, and the dates, and it's even gotten my category for me, as well as cost of goods sold that was a vendor default for this particular vendor. If I don't have vendor default set up, it will take it from the last few transactions I've had for that particular vendor. It’s also given me the total amount. You see the $683.42, which I can expand here, zoom in, and see that $683.42 is there at the bottom. I can save and close, and that's all I needed to do with that bill.
That's it for the bill form. We know we have it also on the expense form, and we're also bringing this to the invoice form so you can speed up creating invoices for your clients.
Jaclyn Anku: Well Jason, thank you so much for that demo of Intuit Assist in QuickBooks Online.
