QuickBooks Live Expert Assisted

Connect your small business clients to QuickBooks Online-certified experts using video, phone, and screen-share capabilities to help answer questions and educate customers about setting up, using, and managing their businesses on QuickBooks. When your clients need help with tasks such as understanding bookkeeping, business tax, or payroll tax, for example, a Live expert can help through a one-on-one via screen share. These experts are not in your client's books, yet play a support role that outsources low margin/out priced work, and frees up your firm’s capacity to focus on advisory.

We’re enhancing visibility for you as well, with the launch of an Automated Call Summaries feature, accessible in the QuickBooks Online Accountant dashboard, that will provide transparency in how QuickBooks Live Experts are assisting your clients. This feature will allow you to see what questions were asked of the QuickBooks Live Expert and how the expert responded, so you’re always in the know.

QuickBooks Live cleanup

Access a QuickBooks-certified bookkeeper to bring a business' books up-to-date within 30 days. This is ideal for firms with a robust tax practice and clients with messy books. Use QuickBooks Live Cleanup to handle cleaning up the books to move expediently from books to tax.

These offerings will be available for purchase through QuickBooks Online Accountant as a wholesale/Bill My Firm option with a 30% ProAdvisor discount off the monthly subscription price. You can add QuickBooks Live as a subscription for existing or new clients. In early 2025, we'll introduce more billing options for added flexibility.

Q: How can I purchase QuickBooks Live Expert Assisted?

You can add QuickBooks Live Expert Assisted to an existing accountant-billed client by doing the following: 

• Go to Settings.
• Select Subscriptions and Billing and then Firm Subscriptions.
• For your client, select the Client Actions drop down menu, and then Add QuickBooks Live Expert Assisted.

You can also add QuickBooks Live Expert Assisted in when you set up a new client in QuickBooks Online Accountant, using the Add Client selector:

• Go to ‘Clients’ in the Your Practice Screen.
• In the top right corner select Add Client.
• Enter Client Information and Click Next.
• Select the QuickBooks Online subscription and the QuickBooks Live Expert Assisted for your client before navigating through the rest of the checkout.

Full Service Bookkeeping and Clean up are not yet available but will be offered in early 2025

Q: What if I don’t want to purchase wholesale service but I have a client that wants QuickBooks Live services?

As we rollout the availability of this offering over the next few months, we’ll enable multiple billing options for you and your clients, including:

1. Bill My Firm: With a 30% off the monthly subscription price.
2. Bill My Client: Subscription price can be billed directly to the client with a 30% off the monthly subscription price for 12 months.
3. Split Billing: The billing option for QBO and QB Live services can be different depending on the needs of your firm and your clients.

Q: Will you be marketing these services to my clients?

• Information about QuickBooks Live Expert Assisted is available to customers through their QuickBooks Online account. For any clients who are currently billed for their subscription through the accounting firm, they can contact you directly.
• All other QuickBooks Live services are only available for purchase by contacting accountants directly.

Q: What billing options will be available with QuickBooks Live?

• To start, all services will be offered as a Bill My Firm pricing option, and you’ll be able to purchase using your QuickBooks ProAdvisor Pricing Plan.
• We are also working to roll out more options, including Bill My Client and the ability to have split billing options should firms want that flexibility. For example, you may have an individual client set up with a Bill My Client QuickBooks Online subscription option, and a Bill My Firm QuickBooks Live subscription option, or vice versa.

Q: Will there be ProAdvisor discounts available with these services?

• Yes, the standard 30% off ongoing, ProAdvisor Pricing for firm billed subscriptions and 30% off for 12 months for client billed subscriptions will be available.
